Origin

A comic artist called Juice created the "Two Buttons" meme template and posted it to Reddit in 2018, drawing inspiration from a scene in the animated adaptation of "The Office." The image shows a character dripping with sweat as he stands before two buttons, each one symbolizing a different option or tough choice. The meme spread rapidly because it worked for countless situations where picking between two things felt impossible, especially when both options seemed equally good or bad.
