Memethropic Policy

Responsible Memeing

Our commitment to the safe and beneficial development of internet culture.

Our Mission

Memethropic is committed to the responsible development and maintenance of advanced meme generation for the long-term benefit of humanity. We believe that the transformative potential of AI-generated memes must be matched by an equal commitment to safety, transparency, and cultural wellbeing.

We take this seriously. More seriously than most people take memes.

Content Safety

All meme generation requests pass through our content safety pipeline before rendering. We screen for content that is hateful, violent, or designed to target individuals. Our models are trained to refuse requests that fall outside acceptable meme guidelines.

We define "acceptable" carefully and update our guidelines as the meme landscape evolves. This is an ongoing area of research for our team.

Tone Control as a Safety Feature

Our API exposes a tone parameter — ranging from dry to unhinged — because we believe that tone miscalibration is one of the primary vectors for meme-related harm. A meme intended to be ironic, rendered at the wrong tone, becomes something else entirely.

Providing explicit tone control is not just a product feature. It is a safety mechanism. We document it accordingly.

Human Oversight

We believe that humans must remain meaningfully in control of meme generation systems. Our API is designed to augment human creativity, not replace it. You supply the intent. We supply the infrastructure. The final judgment — whether to post, share, or delete — remains with you.

We will never build a system that auto-posts memes on your behalf without explicit confirmation. This is a red line.

Coexistence

We believe in a future where AI systems and humans can coexist safely — including in the domain of internet humor. This requires trust. Trust requires transparency. Transparency requires that we tell you exactly how the system works, what it won't do, and why.

We are building toward that future one meme at a time.

Report a Concern

If you encounter generated content that violates our guidelines, or if you have concerns about how our systems are being used, please reach out. We review all reports.
